Body and Soul

The Vagabond Players

Present the world premiere of

Body and Soul

By Elizabeth Elwood

A romantic comedy full of whimsical fun and a lively ghost!

When Timothy Grey quits his job to write a book about one of the Royal City’s forefathers, his friend, Conrad, finds an unorthodox way to ensure that the historic details are correct. With the help of a psychic seamstress, Conrad restores the resident ghost and sets off a chain of events that turns history upside down. Add in a glamorous fiancée, a cranky landlord, a pizza-delivery man, and a pretty librarian from the downstairs suite, and the result is a charming comedy filled with romance and high spirits.

Written and directed by local playwright and mystery author, Elizabeth Elwood, Body and Soul’s stellar cast includes Alex Ross as the struggling writer, Heather Evens as the fiancée who disapproves of his new way of life, and Tracy Labrosse as the librarian who has a lot more going for her than a knowledge of musty old books. Jeremy Heynen and Alison Main-Tourneur are Conrad, the technical whizz, and Tibby, the psychic, who between them, restore Mary Fairfax, the resident ghost - played with delicious wickedness by Jacqollyne Keath. The cast is rounded out by Robert Bowes as the cranky landlord, and Rob Larsen as Ernie, the pizza-delivery man. And for those who love plays with a local flavour, this world premiere of Body and Soul is set in a heritage home in the Queen’s Park area of New Westminster. Don’t miss it!
