Audition requirements:  Credible English Accents

Sides will be provided from plays other than Sherlock’s Veiled Secret at the auditions.  Prepared pieces are accepted as well.

VIOLET SHERIDAN – 20s sculptress, strong willed

SHERLOCK HOLMES – 66, in retirement

CHARLES WELLINGTON YORKE – late 20s, boyish, charming, privileged background

MRS. CYRIL MORTON – 4o’s, poised, wealthy, seen in flashback in her 20s.

IRENE ADLER – early 60’s, opera singer, adventuress, appears in flashback as 30.

TURLOUGH O’BRENNAN – 30’s - 40s, flamboyant, charming

LADY CHAROLETT CARRINGTON – mid 40s, married to a peer of the realm, poised, concealing passionate spirit

All cast and crew must be Vagabond Players members by the start of rehearsals.  

It is preferred that all members of the cast and crew be fully vaccinated All provincial Public Health Orders will be strictly adhered to.

This is a non-Equity production, we are open to casting Equity actors,(actors must obtain their own exemption.)

 

SYNOPSIS

It is 1920, Violet Sheridan is requested to meet with Sherlock Holmes, who is now retired.  Violet is a sculptress and hopes that the reason is a commissioned bust of the renowned detective.

Sherlock informs Violet that they have a family connection and would like her to join him is solving a troubling blackmailing case.  She refuses and then decides to solve it herself.

This journey leads to a surprising ending for both Sherlock Holmes and Violet.

 

PRODUCTION DATES:  10 Shows October 6 to 22

Thursday and Friday October 6 and 7 previews @ 8PM

Saturday October 9 opening night @ 8PM

Thurs, Fri, Sat, - Oct 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 (closing night) @ 8PM

Sunday October 16 matinee @ 2PM
