Wait Until Dark

By Frederick Knott

Directed by Rob Larsen

Frederick Knott's gripping mystery-thriller, Wait Until Dark, is the exciting season closer for Vagabond Players. When a cool-as-ice con man smooth-talks his way into the home of an unsuspecting blind woman, she soon discovers she's harbouring a dangerous prize and that he'll do anything to get it. Tracy Labrosse stars as Susy Hendrix, the recently blinded housewife (the role played by Audrey Hepburn on film). Even more powerful on stage, the masterfully constructed drama moves from one moment of suspense to another as it builds towards an electrifying climax.

Directed by Rob Larsen, Wait Until Dark co-stars Kurtis Maguire as the sinister mastermind, Roat, and Brian Hoskins and George Kopf as the two ex-convicts that he enlists. Jim Bjorkes plays Susy's husband, Sam with Faith Hurd and Elizabeth Olsson sharing the role of Susy's young neighbour, Gloria.

Patrons are asked not to reveal the ending of the play.

*Warning: some of the play takes place in complete darkness and other moments may be too scary for young children*
