Night of the Foolish Moon

A romantic comedy by Luigi Jannuzzi

Directed by George Kopf

Roger, a man obsessed with Don Quixote, falls in love with a witness in a murder trial. She is running for her life and seeks refuge at the beach house belonging to the District Attorney, Roger’s brother.  Meanwhile, Sancho Panza breaks through a time warp to bring Roger the quest he has longed for.  Coincidentally, Roger’s mother is trying to cast Man of La Mancha for the local theatre.  Sancho comes to her aid and romance blossoms.

George Kopf: Director George has been involved in theatre in several capacities with several companies for the last 16 years. Foolish Moon marks George’s fourth full length play that he has directed since he became involved in theatre back in 1991. Other directing credits include "Natalie Needs A Nightie" and "Man With The Plastic Sandwich" both with Surrey Little Theatre, and "Rehearsal For Murder" for Vagabond Players, along with several one act plays For Footlight Theatre Co. during Christmas at the Burnaby Village. When he’s not working on a production he can found playing Men's Fastball during the summer or patrolling the blue lines at several arenas during the winter.

Richard PareSancho - This is Richard's first time performing on this stage but he is no newcomer to community theatre . He has been working with the theatre for the last 25 years as an actor, director, set designer, builder and just about everything else behind the scenes at some point or other working with Stage 43 throughout the 80's and Langley Players in the 90's. He has become our current resident set designer having done last season's 'Wrong turn at Lungfish ' and this season's 'Who saw him Die' as well as this one. Richard says that working for the theatre is a labor of Love . With that we hope to have Richard working with us for years to come.

Alison Main-Tourneur: Lawyer & Stage Manager - Alison is glad to be back at Vagabonds after a few years off. She was most recently seen as the Fairy in Metro Theatre's pantomime Aladdin two Christmases ago and as the Doctor's secretary in Cards on the Table for which she won the CTC award for Best Graphic - Poster or Programme.  For Vagabond Players she has worn many hats; stage manager, actress, props, costume design and set decorator. But Alison's greatest performance on the Vagabond stage was when she married her husband John five years ago. Thank you to all involved in this show and I hope you enjoy yourselves tonight.

Jacqollyne Keath: “Mother”  - Her most recent performances include Sister Robert Anne in Sidekick Players’ “Nunsense”, Vagabond Players’ “Rebecca,” Gateway’s “Brigadoon,” Royal City Musical Theatre’s “Music Man” as Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn. In addition she is a trained dancer, singer and all around thespian.  Her latest adventure is as Artistic Director for Stray Cats Acting Troupe (SCAT), an award winning troupe in Theatre BC’s Greater Vancouver Zone.  She and her three cats reside in the Royal City.  She is well known for her comedic timing and has been awarded the coveted CTC award for Best Supporting Actress for her rendition of Madame Arcati in Langley Players production of “Blithe Spirit.”  Her next show is directing “Comedies on the Edge” also by Luigi Jannuzzi featuring some unpublished work at the PlumBox in Delta later this March and again for Greater Vancouver Zone Festival hosted by the White Rock Players Club.

Sephora Jade: “ Bernie”  - Sephora Jade.... At the ripe young age of 23, Sephora Jade has Graduated from The Vancouver Film School Acting department, acted in 5 plays, and raced in the 48 hour film festival. She aspires to be a film actress. Recently she played Florence in “Desperate Fishwives” at the Shadbolt centre and had a blast as a little trailer park slut who holds Heritage meetings for her trailer park town!  She will be competing in the Greater Vancouver Zone festival in two shows this April much like her peers you see tonight.

Ryan Erwin: “Roger” -  Ryan, much like his character Roger, lives part of his life in a fantasy world.  In Ryan's fantasy he is but a peasant, a rapscallion working on the stage, hence he joined a troupe of rogues rightly named the Vagabond Players.  In reality however, he is the illustrious King Ryan (I), ruler of all Canadia.  Indubitably his majesty has appeared in a smattering of other productions, including a couple of quixotic musicals and plays with Footlight Theatre, and some promethean plays at the VECC, amongst others.  To those who question these facts, he replies 'balderdash!'
