The House of Agatha
Mystrie
a comedy by Robert A Allen
Director - Bob Bradley
Ms. Mystrie, the famous and prolific mystery writer,
gathers a group of the world’s finest (and most peculiar) detectives at her
home, for a weekend of rollicking and relaxation. Her guests include Nancy
Sketch, Sherlucky Holmes, Clues II, The Hardly Brothers (though they’re hardly
brothers) and Rob Remington, PI. Ms. Mystrie convinces them all to
solemnly promise not to solve any mysteries for 2 whole days. Though
skeptical, all comply. When the body of a mysterious guest is found,
everyone must decide whether or not to keep their promise. Unbeknownst to Ms.
Mystrie, (and everyone else), each has decided to find a way to find the
murderer without solving the mystery. Full of frenzied one liners and
comic word-play.

Director - Bob Bradley
Bob started directing about
ten years ago. Directing credits include I’ll Be Back Before Midnight, Bad
Seed, Victim, Ned Durango Comes to Big Oak, and Bells of Hell among others.
Prior to that Bob was active back stage having stage managed approximately 20
plays and provided back stage support for many others.

Nancy Ebert as
Agatha Mystrie
Over
the years, Nancy has appeared on many Lower Mainland stages. In 2008, she
performed at Presentation House as Her Ladyship in The Dresser, and as
Nina in Evelyn Strange with Vagabond Players. Recent performances with
Vagabond Players include Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca and Mum in This Year,
Next Year. Other favourite roles are Amanda Wingfield in The Glass
Menagerie, Mrs. Squeezum in Lock Up Your Daughters, Eleanor in
Lion In Winter, and M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias. Nancy is a long-time
New Westminster resident and is a member of the Board of Directors of Massey
Theatre Society.

Bob Le Pine as Dudley
Bob has been in theatre since high school. He's performed in over 40 productions
over the years. Acting is his main love with comedies being his favorite venue.
He's done almost every job that is necessary for a production from stagehand to
director. Past shows with Vagabond include The Saloon Keepers Daughter
1991 and The Lady's Not For Burning 2001. He's worked with several other
theater groups in the Lower Mainland. After an eight-year hiatus, Bob is happy
to be back on the boards.

Richard Pare as Clues II
Richard has been very active in many community theatres since the early 1980’s
having worked as an actor, director, set designer & builder, and board member.
Playing Inspector Clues II is a treat for Richard as Clouseau is one of his
favorite comedic characters. Richard also appeared on this stage in February,
portraying Clayton Fry in Opening Night. He built the sets for Marion
Bridge, Pirates of Penzance (at the Surrey Arts Centre ) and the set
you see before you tonight. Richard will be directing our winter production of
An Evening of Culture. It takes many people to make a production happen
and we are glad to have Richard as part of our team

Mary Adams as Anna Sthesia
This
is Mary’s first production with Vagabond Players after many years of “playing”
with other companies around the Lower Mainland and in Salmon Arm. Favourite
past roles include Amanda in The Glass Menagerie, Miss Phallon in
Chicks, Sally in Tally’s Folley, and Joyce in Penumbra. Mary
is the recipient of several awards, and shares credit for her success with her
support team of friends and family, both 2-footed and 4-footed. Thank you to Bob
for casting her and the cast and crew for being so much fun.

Jass Takhar as Frank Hardley
Jass
is your ordinary young student. At night she dons her cape and mask to fight
crime and solve mysteries. During the day, she works away at her BFA in
Theatre-performance at Simon Fraser University's Contemporary Arts Program. She
is immensely pleased to be making her first (and hopefully not last!) appearance
at the Bernie Legge Theatre with this mysteriously wonderful and talented
troupe. She sends her thanks to Bob for allowing her to keep such Vagabonds as
company! Lastly, she wishes all to pull out their magnifying glasses and enjoy
the show!

Crystal Ann Bishop as Evangeline Everhardt
Crystal grew up on the stage of the Abbotsford Children’s Theatre starring in
classics such as “The Wind in The Willows” and “The Greatest Christmas Pageant
Ever” and eventually sleepwalked through film school working behind and in front
of the camera. Crystal has a very busy day job working for a background agency
and is thrilled to be able to catch up on her sleep in her first production with
the Vagabond Players

Emily Kwok as Joe Hardley
Emily has been involved in choirs and theatre ever since she could read.
Originally from Ontario she has performed with the Mississippi Mudds, the ITR
theatre group, the Greely Players, and locally is involved with the Fraser
Valley Gilbert and Sullivan Society and the Maple Leaf Singers. An Engineer by
trade Emily enjoys being involved in community groups, making people laugh and
helping others escape from reality even if only for a little while.

Emilie Russell as Nancy Sketch
Emilie is a grade 10 student at York House School. She has been involved in
theatre from a very young age. From the Improv Team, to school plays, she loves
every aspect of theatre. Her recent work includes roles in York House School's
productions: Fame, and the leading role in John Lennon and
Me. Emilie is delighted to be involved in her first Vagabond Players
production. She has had a fantastic time with Agatha M.'s fabulous cast and
crew!
A huge thanks to my family for all of their support.

George Kopf as Rob Remington
George is pleased to back on the Vagabond stage after a two-year absence. That
being in the role of Don Quixote in Night of The Foolish Moon which he
also directed. He can be seen again on Surrey Little Theatre’s stage in mid July
where he will be playing the role of Mr. Stark in the stage version of Rebel
Without A Cause. He has been involved in theatre since 1991 and has been a
member of Vagabond Players since 1995 and the club treasurer since 2002.

Greg Burke as Sherlucky Holmes
Greg
is twenty and has appeared in two previous shows. While his acting experience is
limited his love for theatre is unmatched. In the fifth grade he was the lead in
the spring production Herb the Gardener (the h is silent) about a
happy farmer who through songs and several blunders finally completes all his
daily chores. Greg’s second show was in the eleventh grade called
Everyman, a play done completely in a mask. He played the lead along
with two other smaller roles. He will be attending Douglas College this fall to
be in theatre full time.
