BELLES
comedy/drama by Mark Dunn
director Dale Kelly
April 1st
-25th
Thurs-Sat @ 8:00 pm,
plus 2:00 pm Sunday matinees April 4th, 11 & 18th
The six Walker sisters hail
from Memphis, but now they are scattered all over the country. Only Peggy still
lives in Memphis, where she cares for Mama. When the play begins, Peggy is
phoning her sisters to tell them that Mama is in the hospital. Nothing serious
she just ate some bad tuna. An intriguing story of vivid characters and
involving conflicts emerges in the ensuing phone calls among the sisters. Your
audiences will love this endearing play with strong roles for actresses.

Dale Kelly - Director
Active in local theatre for over thirty years, Belles marks Dale's 71st
show in the director’s chair. His projects for Vagabond Players have
included such plays a Transylvanian Clockworks, The Lady's Not for
Burning, The Road to Mecca and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. With a
darker sense of humour and a macabre point of view, Dale enjoys exploring
the twists and turns that every new script provides. "To push the envelope,
to experience and exchange ideas in a creative environment, that is the
magic of theatre".
